More than two dozen films, from shorts to documentaries to full-length Hollywood features, will be screened as part of the third annual GI Film Festival San Diego, set for Oct. 18-22.
Screenings will take place throughout the city, including the USS Midway Museum, which will host a “Wonder Woman” family movie night Oct. 20 on its flight deck. Other highlights:
- Many of the films that made up May’s GI Film Festival in Washington, D.C., will have return engagements, including GIFF Founder’s Choice winners “American Veteran” and “The 2 Sides Project.”
- “Thank You for Your Service,” a Hollywood release starring Miles Teller, will have an Oct. 19 showing, the week before it hits theaters nationwide.
- Short-film collections will focus on World War II and Vietnam, while a local film showcase will spotlight work from and about the area’s military and veteran community.
