Happy 250th birthday to the US Army! We’re honored to share in the celebration of such an important milestone in our nation’s military history. We appreciate the sacrifices made by our service members to protect our freedoms every day, and we’re dedicated to providing them with the best service possible. With team members that include veterans and military spouses, we have a deep understanding of the challenges that come with military travel. It is our mission to reward our valued guests with an exceptional stay experience.
For more than 15 years, we’ve proudly served the Army community in our hotels and post communities across the country. Thanks to the Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) program, IHG Army Hotels offer the same high-quality accommodations and amenities our guests find off-post, and IHG One Rewards members earn points for their stays, redeemable for reward nights at all off-post IHG Hotels & Resorts hotels worldwide. To date, we have awarded more than 7.4B points to our loyal guests.
We pride ourselves in delivering the best possible stays and the type of service that our military guests deserve. Our hotels scored 4.5 out of 5 in our latest guest satisfaction surveys, with nearly 70% of our guests rating us 5 out of 5.
Under the PAL program, we are also able to reinvest $43 out of every $100 into renovations and new construction, with $5.2 billion to be reinvested over the next 50 years. With that in mind, we’re excited to announce a few updates to our hotels.
Holiday Inn Express on Fort Johnson is celebrating a grand reopening after completing more than $8M worth of renovations last month. This is the first hotel in our portfolio to be branded by IHG in 2010; the 98-room hotel consists of two buildings: Magnolia House and Cypress Inn. In addition to major upgrades to the exterior areas including a new swimming pool and cabana, renovations include updated guestrooms, a remodeled lobby and breakfast area.
We’d also like to welcome our newest branded hotel: Holiday Inn Express Foster Lodge on Fort Leonard Wood. Officially branded this past April, the 66-room hotel features all the Holiday Inn Express hallmarks and amenities, including the Express Start hot breakfast – complete with its popular cinnamon rolls.
Renovations and hotel brandings are just part of what we have in store. We’ve also begun construction on a new Candlewood Suites hotel for guests staying on Fort Bragg. We’ll have more details coming soon.
For 250 years, the Army has played a vital role in the development and defense of our nation. It’s an impressive legacy of service, and one we’re committed to honoring every day. Whether you’re traveling for PCS, business, or leisure, you can expect nothing less than 5-star hospitality stay after stay. Like the Army, we’re proud of our accomplishments and always looking for ways to push ourselves to an even higher standard of excellence. From renovations to new constructions, we’re redefining what military lodging can be now and in the future. Happy birthday, Army! Here’s to many more years together.
